My KitchenSitch...

I believe that life is better gathered around the table with loved ones and a home-cooked meal. Whatever your kitchen situation is—a professional chef, a novice cook, or someone who can barely boil water—this is a place to share great recipes and fun food finds.

As a TV producer for shows like Good Morning America and The Chew, I’ve been lucky enough to spend the last 20 years of my career around some of the smartest minds in the food world. I’m not a professional chef or cook, and I’m certainly not a food scholar, but I do love sharing kitchen tips, tricks, and recipes that I’ve learned along the way. Call it what you will, but I actually think giving people ideas to feed their families--both chosen and by blood--is a simple way to make the world a little better… a little happier… a little more satisfied.

TX -> NYC -> LA

Born and raised in Ft. Worth, TX (aka FunkyTown), I cultivated a deep appreciation for queso and Tex-Mex, Texas Barbecue (no sauce), and Ranch Dressing. While earning my degree in Broadcast Journalism at The University of Texas at Austin, I became the unofficial “den mother” to all of my friends by making home-cooked meals they’d normally only get when visited their parents.

Straight out of college, I moved to NYC to become an (unpaid!) intern at Good Morning America. I started as a script coordinator (aka “SCROD”), and worked the dreaded overnight shift. Shout out to all you vampires making the world go ‘round! Little-by-little, I climbed the ladder at GMA. At first, being dispatched at a moment’s notice to fly into a hurricane for breaking news coverage, or to DC for a presidential funeral, or to London for a Royal Wedding. Years later, after being the unofficial “mayor of fun” programming for GMA, I became the show’s go-to Food and Lifestyle guy.

That experience led me to become a Senior Producer for the Emmy Award-winning ABC Daytime show, The Chew. I am proud to have helped launch a successful daytime show that was engaging and highlighted great information that people could use in their everyday lives.

Since moving to Los Angeles in 2017, I’ve been mixing up my network television background with my love of all things culinary by consulting for various brands, broadcast networks, and streamers.
