Here’s the sitch…
They say there’s no such thing as an original recipe, but I think there are plenty of genius takes on all sorts of ideas in food.
This my take. I can’t promise it’ll be genius, but I can promise that I’ve tested, tinkered, and tried every dish here to make sure it’s tasty enough for you to serve on your table.
Now get cooking!
Lemon Raspberry Loaf
The perfect snacking cake doesn’t exi... This easy quickbread is sweet enough to be dressed up for dessert with some tangy whipped cream, or enjoyed as is with tea or coffee.
Peach Melba Bellini
This cocktail combines the dessert Peach Melba and the Italian classic Bellini. I make a peach puree using frozen peaches, so it’s always in season. Cheers!
Roman-Style Lamb with Herbs & Peas
Looking for a perfectly tender, perfectly Springtime, perfectly hands-off recipe that presents like a roast, but isn’t a roast? Look no further! With a boldly-flavored sauce that’s punctuated with sweet peas and a melange of herbs, this is how you do red meat in the Spring.
Absurdly Addictive Asparagus
This dish is the epitome of a recipe being greater than the sum of its parts, and it really just hits that Spring Green Vegetable Spot. I love it, and find it’s a great side to everything on your Spring table, be it ham ‘n’ biscuits, roast lamb, chicken, or fish.
Sausage & Broccoli Pasta alla Vodka
If a Shapeshifter were a meal, it could easily be this dish. You can make this vegan (using a meat substitute, coconut milk, and vegan parmesan), or with pork/turkey/chicken sausage, heavy cream, and parmigiano reggiano.
Preserved Lemons
Preserving lemons in a salt mixture may seem like a very niche thing to do, but it makes a world of difference in the dishes you cook and they last forever!
Sheet Pan Shrimp “Stir Fry”
This recipe was designed for laziness (we like that here), for as few dishes as possible, and for a high-flavor reward with very little work.
Chicken & Dumplings
These Chicken & Dumplings don’t require any searing or shredding of the chicken, and the dumplings are light, fluffy, and studded with chives (unlike the lead balloons you may have had before).
Triple-Chocolate Skillet Brownie
Skillet Brownies mean NO WAITING to eat gooey, rich, chocolatey goodness.
Josh’s Signature Pomegranate Margaritas
Josh’s Signature Pomegranate Margaritas are perfect for game day or happy hour!
Tony’s Chili-Lime Texas Trash
You may know it as “Chex Mix,” but believe it or not, there was a time when this party delicacy wasn’t packaged and sold at every grocery store in America! My version adds a healthy dose of chili-lime seasoning, cayenne, and chili powder, but still remains true to the classic.
Air Fryer Buffalo Ranch Cauliflower Bites
An air fryer makes quick work of crisping up cauliflower florets that have been dunked in sauce, then a breadcrumb mixture with the Ranch dressing baked right in!
NYC Winter Salad
A Winter salad that adds bright flavors to any meal.
Sheet Pan Gnocchi “Amatriciana”
Perhaps the easiest dinner on the planet? Minimal chopping, no “cooking,” just a sheet pan and an oven.
One-Pot Chicken thighs with Turmeric-Coconut Rice & Greens
A healthy-ish meal that’s ACTUALLY one-pot! Chicken thighs are seared then braised in coconut milk, along with rice, turmeric, ginger, and garlic with plenty of greens and lime to make it pop.
New Year’s Day Soup
This soup has everything you need for good luck in the new year: black-eyed peas, collards, and ham. Plus, it’s just a really tasty soup!
Hash Brown Breakfast Bake
For a stress-free brunch, try this Southern make-ahead staple that’s filled with hash browns, sausage, peppers, onions, and cheese!
CASSOULET-ish (aka White Bean Stew thing)
This meal is the definition of stick-to-your-ribs: porky garlic-spiked beans hidden under a crispy, buttery crust.
The Pork Chops
These pork chops have it all: succulent pork, tangy Dijon mustard, and crispy/buttery/cheesy breadcrumbs. You will never want to make another pork chop again.
Leftover Turkey Pozole
This comforting soup makes great use of the electric pressure cooker, so it tastes like it’s been simmering for hours! Make a big pot and set out a toppings bar, so everyone can help themselves!
